Meet the Artist

Hi there — I’m Taylor Grandy the Founder and CEO of Phylla Plant Design Co.

As a child, I always found it perplexing how individuals could spend so much time confined to indoor spaces. My mother, a project manager at the time, seemed to spend an inordinate amount of time in overstimulating office’s and un-motivating work environments.

From a young age, I harboured an intrinsic longing to connect with nature, finding solace in its embrace. In those moments when I couldn't be outdoors, I sought to recreate the feeling of being amidst nature as best as I could. This innate desire heavily influenced my burgeoning affection for indoor plants and the intricate realm of Biophilic Design.

My affinity for plants blossomed at a young age, instilling within me the significance of caring for living entities and the daily commitment to their well-being.

As I witnessed the growth of my plants, I too experienced personal growth, fostering an unyielding curiosity about the natural world.

Through immersion in the study of horticulture and urban agriculture, alongside my involvement in the exterior and interior plant design industry in the vibrant tourist hub of Whistler, BC, I've grasped the profound significance of connecting humanity with diverse forms of nature.

Phylla Plant Design Co materialized from just a vision during the COVID era.

The transition to predominantly remote work prompted the birth of the Phylla seed... evolving into the thriving entity it is today.
